Can one eat before an abdominal or pelvic ultrasound? What is the difference if it is done on an empty stomach as opposed to a full stomach?I have to have x-ray series and have to eat, they want me to do the ultrasound the same day. I am a bit confused, shouldnt they be done on different days?

I had an ultrasound, they did not tell me not to eat, but I had it early morning so I didnt eat anyway.

You can still eat - it's ok. I had a pelvic ultrasound 3 weeks ago. All I had to do was make sure my bladder was full!

alot of times they make you drink alot of water to move the gass out of the way to see better!
