Lactose intolerance, if you just test any particular set of random people, is pretty common whether or not you have IBS.It may be that the people who have noticable symptoms from lactose intolerance are those that happen to have IBS.A fair number of people who test postitive for this in a random selection of people may be quite intolerant, but have no symptoms. So it can sometimes be a bit confusing as some people who are not intolerant in the tests have symptoms only when they know they drink milk (give them lactose hidden in food and thee is no symptoms) and some people who are intolerant in the tests do not have symptoms when you give them lactose whether they know it or not. However if you are intolerant and you have IBS it may be more troublesome than if you didn't have IBS.K.
