Urgency and soft/messy stools are normal for IBSers.Tends to be rarer at night, but usually the only at night stool issues that really twigs a "not IBS" is if you have watery diarrhea mostly at night. And that counts as urgent, but usually not messy. Some people with microscopic colitis will have copious watery diarrhea mostly during the time they would be sleeping.
