When I do hard stools and they sit at the bottom for a few minutes or longer, yellow coloring seems to be around them. Is this normal?

Stool starts yellow (or sometimes green depending on the color of your bile). I'm sure only some of the color is changed to brown and as stool sits in water it dissolves and falls apart.
