I just checked the Centerwatch website and saw a large number of recently added listings for trials for an investigational medication for IBS. This large of listings seems to me that it might be a late stage, phase III trial, though this is only a guess. The study is looking for men and women 18-70, but does not specify any subtype of IBS. I know that both GSK's talnetant and Merck's asimadoline, both in phase II from the last I've heard, are being studied for all subtypes of IBS. I also know that Alizyme's renzapride is expected to start phase III studies for IBC-C and IBS-A, though I think maybe in women only (not sure about this.) Or maybe this is that "naltrexone" drug that didn't seem to work for anyone here or else some other drug I haven't heard of. Anyhow, I was just curious if anyone has heard about these trials or has already enrolled in one.
