MY latest doc visit or should I say hospital stay,5 nights, 4 lng days, due to vomitting/ dehydration was due to reflux in my asophagus. I am taking prevacid now among anti nausea meds which do not seem to work. I would welcome any advice. I am miserable and are not satisfied with the lack of information my specialist has for me. All of my test came back normal, except the biopsy which shows the reflux; and they ran LOTS of TesTS. I too am frustrated, please offer some guidance, helpful hints....

Dear Biddy: I am sorry you have to go through this. I was never diagnosed with reflux but sometimes I get this horrible pain between my rib cage and through my back. I have heard different theories, gall stones, ulcer, or maybe the acid is coming up from my stomach and burning (I guess) my estopicus (spelling???). I tried all the over the counter medicine and the only thing that works for me is Bromo seltzer. I can't just take the regular dosage though, I usually have to have 3 glasses of the stuff before it starts working. But it does work for me. After an attack I am so sore for a few days after but at least that horrible pain is gone. It really hurts it. Some attacks are worse then others so I put them on a scale of 1 to 10 now. A friend of mine gets migraines and she scales them also. Goood luck and I pray you will feel better.

I don't have nearly as bad a problem with the nausea and vomiting as you biddy, but when I get nauseous, I have found that taking about 1000mg of ginger root helps for me. I actually read somewhere that it works better than a lot of the medications for nausea. Maybe it will work for you.

Biddy, sorry to hear of your troubles but at least they have pinpointed the problem! I don't have any advice for you, just a prayer in your direction. God Bless! Chloe
