Can taking Remeron cause high blood pressure? I don't know if it caused it or continues it - I am no longer pregnant but cannot get my BP down. My first pregnancy was fine but that was 5 years ago and I was much 'lighter' then. During this pregnancy and since it - I still have Hi BP 140/92 last read

Hi srhackett, did you talk to your doctor about this, or maybe even call your pharmacy and ask them about it. But I would ask the prescribing doctor about it.

HI Eric-My ob said to check my BP about 6 months post partum as it was elevated at delivery. (and the last months of pregnancy) I just checke dit in one of the stores and it is still just as high. I will call OB on Monday and will see my psychiatrict on Thursday. My concern is docotro's aslways poo poo stuff - so I wanted to see if anyone knew of this as a common side effect..

Speaking from a womans perspective, it could be due to a lot of factors of which our hormones do contribute. however, it is not always the female hormones but hormones associated with other glands in the body. When was your last pregnancy?Prgenancy often changes our bodies.Sometimes the whole physical process of being pregnant is enough of a stress trigger to the body to kick in any Genetic problems like Hypertension.you need to work with your doctor and monitor your BP carefully.140/92 is the technical beginning of hypertension that requires medication for maintenance. If your top number goes up to 200 it's time to go to the hospital.if your lower number goes over 100 it is time to go to the hospital. If your pulse rate is over 100 it is time to go to the hospital. You will consider each number individually and most importantly if all 3 numbers do a big spike, it's time for medical intervention.Heart Disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. The numbers are staggering as to what women don't know and how many other things they pass the sometimes subtle symptoms off to.what's even more scary is the number of doctors who can't tell heart failure from an IBS attack or an anxiety attack.take care and have the health talk with your doctor. if the Family practice docotr does not treat your BP with concern, get a consult with a cardiologist. At least then you will have the advantage of a more complete medical analysis.Kamie

Remeron dramatically decreased mine and my sisters blood pressure. Ask Organon, they make it right? They should know if that is a side effect. Or just call your pharmacy for side effects. I have never heard of increased blood pressure from it. Everyone is different. Remeron gave me low blood sugar and that's not a side effect either???
