GERD stands for Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease. I was diagnosed with this last year. From what I understand when food enters the stomach it reacts abnormally by spasming instead of normal peristalsis. The result is PAIN and really bad acid reflux (heart burn.) I was also nauseaus and vomiting. My internist prescribed me Propulsid. I took it for 8 weeks. Relatively speaking I feel humanoid again, but I still have some mild problems with my lower gut (C and bloating.) I had tried Prilosec and every other acid reducer to no avail before the Propulsid. Any other questions/comments about GERD?
