I was wondering did your doctor come out and tell you IBS right after your colonoscopy/endoscopy/etc? I'm having mine Tuesday (FINALLY!!!) and was wondering if they would tell me if it was Crohn's, Colitis, IBS... whatever it is right after or if you have to wait. TIA for answers.

i do not have ibs (or crohns or colitis) but yes, my gastro doc did tell me the results of my colonoscopy right afterwards. he said i had a long twisted colon.

i also had a follow up appointment scheduled for a few weeks later which is always a good thing for a number of reasons. depending on how you react to the sedative they give you, you might not remember much of what the doc tells you afterwards. which is another reason why it's handy to have someone with you so they can listen to what the doc has to say. my husband remembered everything much better than i did lol.

my husband was also given the results of his colonoscopies right afterwards.

good luck with everything.
