Hi - I'm new to this board. I have had IBS-D for about 3 years now and my main trouble is gas gas gas gas! It's so horrible! Well I recently heard of something called SeaCure in a health newsletter by Dr. Julian Whitaker. I ordered some and will tell you guys how it works in 2-3 weeks or so. I hope it works b/c I'm SO TIRED of wasting money! I just tried some digestive enzyme through a MLM and it gave me such bad smelling gas I couldn't leave the house for days! I am taking Caltrate Plus now and sometimes it seems to work and other times not. Not only am I miserable now but broke! Has anyone here tried SeaCure?

Hi Kitty! I'm sorry I haven't heard of seacare. My main problem is the same as yours, GAS, GAS, GAS! Lots of fun, isn't it? I'm finding it very difficult. I mainly have IBS-C. If you could let us know how it goes with the Seacare, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! I wish I had a good solution. I'm still struggling. It's chronic, 1 and 1/2 years. I'm seeing a new doctor next Thursday. My main problem is the bad smell. Good Luck & Thanks for the tip. Take Care. Annie

Hi kitty,I know what you are saying. I have the bad gas smell too. Hate going anywhere and getting those dirty looks etc. So stay home a lot. I have not heard of the Sea Cure but have tried a lot of other things. Will be waiting to see how it works for you.Hi again Annie, I was wondering how you ere doing. Let me know if the new Doctor helps. I have seen so many and they are all sure they can help me but after awhile they say learn to live with it or they pretend they donn't notice the bad smell. All the time fanning their noses......
either of you want to e-mail me I would like to talk with you......

Annie - please tell us what your new doc says! Joyce, I was wondering if a bland diet helps with the smell. Usually my gas doesn't smell too bad if I stick to a very bland diet - but not all the time. I wish I knew the answer to our gas problem! It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't suffer with constant gas how something like this can ruin your life - but we can't give up hope - we have to constantly look for answers. I pray about it all the time and I hope one day I will see a light at the end of this SMELLY tunnel. I find that I have my worst gas in the morning. How about you?

kitty,I have tried a lot of diets, what wuld a bland diet be? Like no beef or dairy or what. I don't always have a bloated feeling but the gas leaks out constantly and the smell is they worst....
I try to stay away from dairy, spicy foods, tomato - most fruits and veggies (healthy, huh?). I usually eat chicken and rice with a SMALL amount of mixed frozen veggies, light chicken or turkey sandwich (with no mayo- just a little mustard), soup and sometimes a meatloaf with 2/3 turkey and 1/3 ground beef. Except for the occasional meatloaf I stay away from beef. Steak makes me super sick. Almost all I drink is water. What is your diet like?

kitty,I have been following the SCD diet which is a lot like what you are using, altho I do eat lots of fruits and veggies. Am wondering if cooked pureed veggies would be OK. I feel so starved all the time...... onions and garlic are suppose to be good for you but don't help the smell....Mostly I drink water but flavor it sometimes with lemon juice...Still not doing something right. Maybe cutting out all fruit might help. I have garden and all kinds of fruits that I grow
Shame not to be able to eat them.

If you are taking Caltrate Plus or Walgreen's Calcium+Minerals 3 times a day, 1 after each meal, your diahrea symtoms may subside. Lettuce, fresh fruits, coffee seem to be my triggers. Some time back, I was taking Jerusalem artichoke flour also and after some antibiotics, I included yogurt in my diet. The result has been wonderful.I also try to follow the Go-diet.com and that may have helped. Now I just take the calcium, a yogurt once a week, and wear Depends pull-ups if I'm going out for more than an hour. Yesterday I went into Chicago and was gone over 4 hours. Made a couple of pit stops, but no emergencies. While we live, let us live!

Having that leakage of gas which Joyce mentioned above is no joke. At least some people have some control over the thing. With me, most of the time it just happens and I think I'm in control until I see others' reactions. The D I've controlled thanks to Cal.Plus. As far as the cost of the SEACURE,Kitty,if it works,I'llwork in the salt mines to pay for it if I have to---anything to get rid of gassssss.bachiana
