EricI am the individual who Persistance referred to regarding the Aloestron study. I have also wondered about the seratonin connection as well. I have never viewed myself as someone who suffers from depression, but I was trying to keep an open mind.I suspect it can be viewed as a "chicken or the egg" situation. Do I have IBS because I am depressed or am I depressed due to the fact that I have IBS. I can tell you one thing for certain and that is my whole outlook on life changed after I started taking Aloestron. Minus my IBS symptoms my life improved tremendously. I started to remember what it was like prior to IBS and my zest for life shot up and my stress level dropped.Based on my experience I have drawn some clear conclusions on what factor chronic pain and discomfort play on ones mental state. I am truly grateful for all of the attention that IBS has been getting as of late. Granted pharmaceutical companies stand to profit substantially, but so do all of us. I can not put a price tag on feeling good.
