You may have already had this done, but have you had your gallbladder checked out. Gallbladder pain can be similar to heartburn - really really bad heartburn. I went through that pain for two years because the doctor told me I had GERD. I took prilosec for 2 year which did get rid of the pain. Well, I went on vacation for three days and forgot the medicine. For the first two days I was ok, but when I arrived back home I started to get the pain. I ignored it until the middle of the night when I woke up thinking I was having a heart attack. My hubby took me to the ER and low and behold after they scanned my gallbladder, they found over 30 stones. That was what my problem was for the two years I was supposed to have Gerd. Stupid Doctor. It was an intern in the ER that was smart enough to check out my gallbladder. Had it removed 8 hours later and haven't had the pain since.

You can also have gallbladder disease without any stones. This is what I had. This will also cause you to have gastritis. I had my gallbladder removed a month ago. feeling much better. The docotor says though it might take two to three months to get rid of the gastritis. I had to have every GI test there is before they found out. Finally had the HIDA scan. It showed the disease.
