I am on day four of taking Caltrate (1 with lunch and maybe one with dinner). I only have occasional episodes of D but always have immodium on hand in case. I have found myself with gas, and sometimes painful bms since starting, should i continue? is this normal?

Aries,I think you should probably take 1/2 tablet with lunch and 1/2 tablet with dinner for a few days. It sounds like you may not need as much as some of us. It may make you feel better and have less gas. But, the gas will go away as your body gets used to the added calcium. Be consistant when you find the right dose. If you stop it the diarrhea will return. Linda

I also had a lot of gas during my first try with the Caltrate but I'm going to start again, taking LNape's advice about 1/2 each meal and see if it makes a diffrence. She has, by the way, been a great source of help to a lot of people on this board so I think I'm going to give it more time this round.
