Hi guys,I have been suffering bowel problems after a long antibiotic round in 2008. I don't know if antibiotics can cause SIBO. I would like to be tested for it but don't know where proper test for SIBO is done. I have called several GI Drs offices in my area, Miami, and the nurses don't know about any test to diagnosis it. Please, I need to know if there are special labs doing it, hospitals, Dr's offices ??? Thanks for any advice, Jorge.

Hydrogen breath test is what is used to test it.Other than using more antibiotics there isn't much else to treat it.Usually the places that do the testing tend to be larger hospitals, usually ones with universities or medical schools where they do research.I dunno if this will help or not. http://www.medicinenet.com/hydrogen_breath_test/city.htmhttp://emedicine.medscape.com/article/212861-diagnosis has someone at the University of Miami on the paper, so if they have a hospital associated with them that may be a place to ask.
