Hi, i had a barum enama x ray last month, due to my ibs getting much worse, and blood loss, dr said it looked like ibs but wasnt sure. I have an appountment for next week for a sigmoidoscopy but dont understand why,isnt it just the same thing??

They are looking at the same body parts, but with the sigmoidoscopy they can see the lining and take a sample if they see what might be causing the bleeding.
