I am not an expert, but I suffer the same thing, only I am tired during the day and then sleepless at night. It is virtually impossible for me to wake up in the a.m. as well. There are some I've seen on here who suffer from it as well. Seratonin plays a role in IBS, and other things as well. Perhaps one of them is sleep. Not sure. Eric would be a great person to ask. He has a lot of info on IBS, and is very well educated on the subject. He may be able to answer that question for you.
