Well I'v stoped taking my medication and I still fell the same. The only thing is I can't sleep at night.I lay there until two or three in the morning trying to ignore the dull ache in my stomach.Last night as lay there going out of my mind I started thinking if so many people have I.B.S why aren't there more doctors that know about this. Shouldn't they be tought this in medical school or something? What would it take for them to take us seriously! I say we could march on Capitol Hill but there probably wouldn't be enough restrooms along the way.I could see it now, half the people would be running for the restrooms while the rest of us would be laying on our sides trying think happy thoughts until the pain go's away.Slowly going nuts Marvin

I liked your joke about the March On DC.But I'm even more interested in your reference to your pain during the night. I'm just beginning to seek out others who may share the bloated, aching abdominal pain that I experience most nights after about 4-5 hours of sleep. I joined today when I discovered this site. I don't know if I have IBS or not. I do know I have a lot of abdominal pain during the night and yet every test I have had finds nothing abnormal. Please share your symptoms/experience. I welcome your help and input.

My GI friend tells me that if pain wakes you up or keeps you from sleeping at night..it is usually Chrones or IBD. He says that normal IBS won't wake you up during the night on a regular basis. There is a new blood test you can get from your GI. It is called a prometheus test. They send the blood to a special lab in Ca. & check it for Chrones & IBD. I am getting it done in Sept./Oct.
