·I am new to this site and am so pleased to find others who share my problems. I battled "nervous stomach" as a child, a rectal ulcer at age 8, classic IBS symptoms in my 20s, 30s and now in my early 40s.Over the years, I have found the following to be helpful. NO caffeine, little or no alcohol, aloe vera juice, flax seed oil, high fiber diet and meditation for relaxation. I used Metamucil successfully for years but have stopped since it now appears to irritate my rectum. I am interested to hear about success stories with homeopathy, hypnotherapy or herbal remedies. I would like to explore these alternatives.
