Okay, ya'll know that I am supposed to have surgery on Aug. 27th; but here's what is wrong!I am having some bad lower abdominal pains; not currently bleeding in the female way; have had two BM's this evening (or should I now say last evening) and I bled like a stuck pig each time, rectally! The GYN said that my uterus was growing (or had grown) and the problem seems to be worsening. My mom wants me to double check and make sure that I am not pregnant. Tomorrow, I will call my GP to find out info on all of the biopsies that I have had. Two from the colonoscopy and one from the female parts!Well, what do ya'll make of this? I even took pain pills today - having headaches like I am having a period but I am not having one. I even have A zit on my chin. I often only get ONE zit when I am going to have a period but man, I just got off the period and I feel like I am going to do it again!Opinions, anyone?I am rambling again, bye for now,AMF

First let me tell you CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!! That kind of bleeding should NOT be ignored. DO you have a lot of rectal pain after the bms? Like a tear or something. (I know, if you are D that will sound crazy.) I had this happen last December, pain like you would not believe, and it would not be handled by OTC pain meds. Figured it was hemmorhoids, my GP gave me anusol suppositories, and it got worse. Spent Christmas with ice cubes on my rectum to stem the bleeding and numb the pain. Went to see a Coloretcal surgeon a few days later (soonest appt I could get) and I had a rectal fissure. (tear in the rectum, SUPPOSEDLY caused by C and straining, NOT me, I am ALWAYS D, but...) He prescribed nitroglyceryn ointment. Worked wonders as long as you didn't get any on the hemmorhoidal tissue (BAAAAAADDDD Headache) fissure healed (for a few weeks) I too bled like a stuck pig. Bright red and dripping. You may be suffering from something as simple, or it could be more serious. DO go see the doc, or at least call him/her right away!Good luck.Maggie

Oh, AMF, call the dr. right away! Is the blood red, or black? Red is fresh, and is very serious. Black is very serious, also, but is from higher up in your system (like a bleeding ulcer). But you need to see a dr. right away. Please. Let us know what you do...Thoughts for you.------------------"If the world seems cold to you, kindle fires to warm it." Lucy Larcom

I've actually had tears in my rectum too - it's scary to see all that bright red blood! I would at least call the doc and see if it can be related to your female troubles of late. Let us know how it goes, okay?

AMF--these are only guesses. I know my period was all over the map when I had endometriosis, and my hormones were screwed up too. This could account for the period-like symptoms. And I had really bad pain all the time by the left ovary. It seems like your hormones are involved...but the question is--what is setting them off? The rectal bleeding could be internal hemorrhoid. Are you experiencing any pain when you have a BM? Let's hope that's all it is! You could be experiencing C because something (like your uterus/ovary) is taking up more room than normal.I know it's hard to wait for test results. I hope you reach some clarity by tomorrow. All the best,Meeps

Hey, meeps: Thanks for the response. Yes, I do have two small "H's" that the surgeon did diagnose; waiting for him to call me this afternoon about the biopsies. Gotta make sure everything is fine before I have a hysterectomy. My uterus has begun to grow in the last month for some reason and I do know that it is putting pressure on other parts of my system. And yes, I do know that my hormones are all screwed up; but I am not sure why unless the premenopause phase (seems like I have been in this state for many years!!!!!) has something to do with it. But I have been through every type of remedy and I have really bad side effects from everything they give me and enough is enough. Time to get rid of the problem. Thanks,AMF

Thanks, everyone for the responses. I read them all. Here is what I have done and what I am still waiting on...But first, I had problems with my computer yesterday and wound up posting this article twice...sorry about that!I called my GP this morning to tell them everything that was going on; they took everything down, one step at a time. The nurse called me back and told me that I had to call the surgeon's office and talk to him about everything. He is supposed to call me sometime after 2 this afternoon - central time. I will let ya'll know what he says about all of this mess.Well, I have taken all of your advice early this morning by reporting the bleeding. And Missycat, I suspect that this may have something to do with my female problems - especially if my uterus is growing for some reason - it will push everything out of order! Yuck! But at least, I don't have to wait too long now for help!AMF
