What would you do next? I've had the HIDA scan, which came back "borderline" low. Gallbladder US, which showed everything was normal. Two liver blood tests, which were normal and then last week the colonoscopy. I'm still waiting on results, but was told things looked good. GI dr suggests I need to see family dr and be treated for stress, depression and anxiety. He still thinking this is IBS. I'm still have RUQ and back pain. He changed my medication from Levbid to Rubinol and took me off the Citrucel. Levbid was making sending me into panic attacks each day w/uncontrolleable crying. The Rubinol isn't doing that, however, I still have the pain. Every morning my BM's are loose, they haven't been normal in 3-4 weeks now, since the medicines! And the pain is starting to make me second guess and panic too!Where do I go from here? Do I just accept that this is IBS and learn to deal w/it? Do I demand more tests? And if so, what kind of tests? I'm driving my family nuts worrying and they are tired of hearing me complain. I have a prescription for Zoloft, but I'm scared to take it because of some things I've heard about it too. Thanks for listening!Sharon

Hi Sharon. How great was it to find that there is someone else out there who is having similar issues as me. Let me tell you my story....I was diagnosed with IBS about 16 years ago and it didn't pose a problem until February this year. An uncomfortable pain just below my right rib has become a pain I have been living with for the last 9 mths. It began as a niggling pain to one where I have had to have nearly a mth off work. The pain, I believed, mimicked issues with the gall bladder as I have/had back pain as well, but having had the following tests, this was ruled out. I too have undergone every test imaginable including CT scan, xrays, barium meal, ultrasounds, colonoscopy and 2 gastroscopy's all of which came back clear. In addition to this I have had numerous blood tests including liver function tests. These too showed nothing. I should be grateful that there is nothing seriously wrong with me but I am only now starting to come to terms with the fact that this may be IBS in a more severe form from the one I knew in my earlier years. I also think it's human nature to seek answers - you know you have pain and you want someone to tell you what's the matter with you. When they keep telling you there's nothing wrong, you begin to believe it must all be in your head!! Anyway, After 2 GP and 1 specialist opinion, they have diagnosed IBS.My BM's have been all over the place these last few months and as hard as I try, I can't find what foods may trigger my symptoms. It also becomes a vicious cycle: IBS-pain-worry-stress-IBS (it never ends!!)Hope I've made you feel better just as you have me. Just so you know, I'm off to seek a 2nd specialist opinion on the 25th of this month. I'm not taking this lying down!!Take care,Maggie

You might try donnatal. My HIDA came back normal but I get the right-side-under-the-rib pain when eating fatty foods or seeds. Donnatal has worked well for me.
