To prepare for a trip out of the country, I have purchased "Phillips' FiberCaps" (think FiberCon, but less expensive) and "Spring Valley Calcuim plus minerals w/D" (think Caltrate+, but about half the price). The question is, which one should I begin first, and how much of each one? They both have calcium, and I know it is possible to take too much of it. I am considering 1 FiberCap after breakfast, 1 Calcium+ after lunch, and 1 FiberCap after dinner, each with at least 8 oz water. Is that a reasonable place to begin--or is it too much or not enough? Please share your experience and ideas! Thanks.

Well, the fiber hasn't helped me as much as the Caltrate has. I take 2 Caltrate, one at breakfast and one at dinner. Others take 3 a day. You just need to experiment to find out what works best for you.

Just read on the Caltrate site that 1200 mg calcium is minimum for women over 50 (that's me). So 2 a day is not too much, if none is in the fiber tabs; but some is. Looks like it is a different kind of calcium, though. anyone have better info?
