Hey, I don't usually say much but was wondering if anyone else has had this occur where it hurts so much that you swear you've eaten glass!My doctor explained that when there is such a problem, there may be a need for an operation to make the hole bigger!!!!Youch!

The operation can cause incontinence. I would stick to the proctosedyl ointment with the applicator that you insert nice and high to treat the upper anus. This type of treatment has helped my fissures heal completely. I frequently get new fissures but they only last for a short while an don't reoccur for months.

Hey Oakey,Do you only have pain when you go to the toilet?A few years back I had an ulcerated lower colon. My doc used one of his torch things and had a look up there to see if it was not something else. I had to use a cream??? cannot quite remember the name and had to take laxitives for about 2 weeks. After that no problem. The trick is to not only keep your number 2's soft, it has to watery so as not to stretch the anal sphincter (spelling??)CB
