On a Rosacea forum someone said her Dr suggested that Anxiety, Rosacea, IBS, and even many cases of Acid Reflux are probably related to too much bile. Has anyone heard of that hypothesis? I have all 4 of those conditions.

Yep, excess bile is what I was told causes my problems and caused four stomach ulcers. I take prilosec and seems to control everything. Colestid - a cholestrol lowering med will slow bile production down. I don't take that because prilosec heals the ulcers or so the doc says. My stomach doesn't hurt anymore.
I produce tooo much bile now that I had my gallbladder out so I take the Colestid and it gave me my life back. Also I have anxiety not as much now since the D stopped but the anxiety medicine I took helped too!

Thanks! How do they determine if too much bile is being released?
Well, they found mine when the did an endoscopy (camera down the stomach). The GI doc said there was excess bile and that is when she saw the ulcers. I was asleep so I didn't really know what was going on, but I got pictures

I can't for the life of me think how too much bile can cause anxiety. Sounds like the medieaval doctors talking about the humours!! But I can imagine it creating problems with acid reflux.
Let me finish my comment about the anxiety. My anxeity was brought on by family trouble that caused me to have BAD IBS-D symptoms thus I would get more anxious every day about the D.Once I got my nerves under control and the Colestid medicine because a doctor finally realized I had too much bile due to gallbladder removal,I have gotten mylife back together!
