Too much water?

699 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  moxie
I suffer with IBS-C. I take magnesium to help control it and drink plenty of water. Can a person drink too much water. I have noticed that by eveningtime I have a dull headache. It is the type that when you turn your head to the side it feels like it takes a while for your brain to catch up to the turn.Is too much water possible?

It is possible to drink too much water, but usually it takes drinking in the 1-2 gallons of water a day without replacing any electrolytes. http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/...rhydration.html K.
patsy--- I 've had the same kind of headache and have been on magnesium when they occur. It was hard for me to tell if it was the water or the magnesium, but I felt kind of "funny" ---it's funny that you mention this because i had the thought that it felt like i was "water-logged" .....i dunno.....i don't think the water causes the headaches though, esp. if you're not taking several gallons,....i think it's the magnesium. what form are you taking? if it's oxide form, or grocery store brand, it could be the oxide form is too powerful for you, or that there are added ingredients that are affecting you. i'm still trying to decide what to do about magnesium myself. sorry i'm not much help.
Patsy:How much water are you drinking? We need real quantities here to answer clearly, although other posters have partially addressed that.
