well got my letter today been turned down again
so i will have to appeal yet again, it makes me wonder should i bother? My partner says julie you have a valid claim, if you dont appeal then what was the point of trying in the first place. Now if i was a druggie they would be throwing giro's at me. well world war 3 will begin if they treat me like #### again.
ps: sorry for whining just a bit pissed off

Hi JoolieYou MUST appeal. I know it is very hard and exhausting but we must not let them walk all over us. As I told you before, it took me 4 years to get my pension from the NHS - they refused me twice and I appealed twice - eventually I got it. I was determined to go to the Pensions Ombudsman if I had to, but fortunately I did not need to go that far. You must take your appeal as high as you can.Keep us posted.Judith

thanks for your reply barbara, when i had my 1st appeal the panel didnt really take my ibs seriously at all.Nor did they take my mental health probs seriously either.I got the impression that they dont see ibs as any kind of disability.do you get disability? if so whaere in the world are you? i know all countries are different.

Honestly, it never occured to me that you could apply for disability for it. I see you are from Scotland! That is so cool. My great grandparents are from Edinburough (I never spell that right). I am so looking forward to one day visiting. Anyways, I am from United States. I don't think many people let alone countries take it seriously unless they either see the affects it has on people first hand or get it themselves. I wish you luck in getting it approved though. Barbara

Im on my first appeal. They just sent me a letter that they were having a vocational expert review my case and answer some questions the judge has? My thought was why that and not a Dr? Well I just hope I dont have to appeal again. Good Luck to you!

Joolie, I'm so sorry to hear that you were turned down again. Good luck with your appeal. When you do appeal, make sure that you really stress the dangers caused by your passing out because that's much more likely to persuade them to give you DLA than the IBS is.Have you got a date for your brain scan yet?Love,ClareM

Joolie,Just to let you in on a little something. My brother has a morphine pump surgically inserted into his body. He falls asleep standing up just peeing TMI sorry but really he can't even stay awake through most conversations, the people he works for are SO nice and let him work whenever he feels like it, about 3 or 4 times a month for half day or less just to keep his medical. He is a mechanic but they cannot let him work on anything anymore because he always falls asleep etc. so they pay him to sweep up around the shop
On top of the morphine pump he takes pain meds orally (he's in constant pain) He is also in and out of the hospital constantly. ALL of his doctors are for him getting disability. Heck who wants someone like him driving to work? My mom actually takes him but they don't know that. HE has been turned down for disability!! Crazy huh? It's almost impossible from my point of view to get disability
He deserves it more than anyone I know! Yes, he has reapplied but has yet to hear anything back
it's been months now. I'm so mad I could scream for them not giving it to him. So according to my story or I mean my brothers it looks like getting disability could be a long grasp for you unless it varies from state to state.

Joolie, Just noticed you were from Scotland! Sounds like they aren't any better than here in the states with giving disability when REALLY needed
I also missed saying I'm so sorry they turned you down. I'll be sending many good thoughts your way that they finally see the light and give you what you so deserve

hiya and thanks for your kind words , i think the whole of the uk is bad for not getting bugger all in disability payments.I really think your bro has been treated most unfairly the peeps who made a decision not to award him any help are a bunch of B******* i saw a programme on tv the other night about this guy in america i forget which state anyway he had diddled the disability peeps out of thousands of dollars, pretending to be ill, he was being watched by the benefits agency and he was actually running around playing baseball and he was 6 feet up a tree cutting it down, now this was a man who COULD not walk god it made me sooo
ill let you know how i get on
