Since about august I'v been getting symptoms that suggest I have IBS but havent talked to anyone about it. I was just wndering what foods trigger attacks? ice cream seems to literally go straight through me, but never used to until recently. I also ate a pizza the other night and got an attack with a lot of pain and dashes to the bathroom pretty mush straight after eating, as well as gas. what foods should I avoid? I seem to be alright if I only eat small meals, but i cant carry on eating like this, I miss being able to eat foods I find I cant now. please help!

Hi Jinx - This is a great question but the answer is way too long and detailed to post here, so I'm going to send you to the website that has all this information. Follow the link http://www.eatingforibs.com/eatcook.htm and you'll see how foods can physically affect the gut, and how to eat safely for IBS.There are also other sections on the website to help you determine if you fit an IBS diagnosis, and what tests you should make sure you have (you have to be diagnosed with IBS by a doctor - don't self-diagnose).Best,Heather
