Does anyone know the effect of chitosan and chromium on people who suffer from IBS? I thought about taking some products that help with weight loss that contain these substances but I don't know if it is safe for people with IBS. Any insight would be appreciated.

http://www.quackwatch.com/04ConsumerEducat...A/chitosan.html http://www.hcrc.org/faqs/chrom.html I wouldn't spend money on the supplements. Talk to your doctor about setting up a weightloss program. He may have a nutritionist he works with that can help. The only known effective weightloss plan is to eat less and exercise more. You could try the good old Dr Mottus (my dad) weight loss program. Eat everything you always ate, just 2/3 of the portion you usually eat.HTHK.

Both my husband and I have lost weight by eating low carb and high (lean) protein and my D has disappeared. It's the easiest way to eat that I've found, I'm full all the time, have lots of energy and sleep less. Easy when eating out too - broiled fish, chicken, steak, etc. and salad or veggies.
