Hey, im a noob here, im 20, male and in uni with ibs-d.I was diagnosed with this about a year ago but the symptoms have been ongoing for about 3-4 years getting steadily worse.I've got the normal abodmin pain, blood in stool, gas attacks and nausea which i've recently found was caused by fatty foods (doctors gave me a food list with EVERYTHING on it except fatty foods...) cutting it out helped lots. Spicy foods don't affect me, neither does caffeine or alcohol.However. After starting a low fat diet i'm having difficultly walking? as in if i walk for more than about a mile or so i get INTENSE abodmin pain and regardless of what i've eaten i have blood in my stool for a couple of days afterwards?Does anyone else have this? if how how did you deal with it?from what i've read walking seems to help most people but not me :-(Edit;I forgot to mention; been for all the usual tests, not chrones, not colitus, not auto immune yada yada yada all negative tests.Been scoped up and down and all i was told was "non specific inflammation of the bowel"tried a bunch of pills like buscopan and other anti spazmoids that didnt help.

Hmmm... you know it almost sounds like you don't have enough fluid on board.... Maybe try making sure you are WELL hydrated before your walk. If you are having any D you may be a bit "drier" than normal??? Ya KWIM??? The Blood is bright red I take it and probably from hemmies??? What does the Dr say about that blood?

ok, ill give that a shot!Dr is pretty f***ing useless, ive been angry with him a few times because he cant seem to understand that ibs doesnt go away and he just says "theres no point in coming back here, just get bedrest when its bad and take painkillers". I'm partway through changing health centres atm, will have a new Dr soon... blood is bright red yeah but the bleeding is FAR more severe after i've been walking anywhere.

I really think you should go and see your new Doctor as soon as you can.I suffer from piles, usually you know when you have them as they are like swollen lumps at your back passage unless you have them inside, they do pop out if you strain, but having D can also cause them and it is bright red blood you get from them.I hope your new Doctor will be of the understanding kind.Take care.

Max I would 2nd Diana's suggestion to find a new Dr. The one you have isn't helping you and you should have someone you can trust, communicate with and this one sure doesn't fit that bill! So I would make finding a new one a bit of a priority and I would make sure they examine you and let you know what to do with that rectal bleeding. Whatever is gonig on down there isn't being treated well enough if you bleed eveytime you take a walk! You are worth better treatment.. so get yourself a more understanding, sympathetic and professional Dr.All the best
