IBS can only effect weight in the same way that weight changes in healthy normal people.You may have changed your eating habits or your activity level. Many with IBS eat differently, or do not do as much. Weight loss is seen in IBS also due to dietary changes (usually of the if I do not eat, I do not have symptoms sort of thing)If your weight gain seems all out of proportion with your calories in and calories out check with your doctor to have a standard physical sorts of tests done, and a medication review.Some medications are associated with weight gain, often because they increase the appetite.K.
