Hi guys. I got up this morning at the normal time and struggled as usual - 30 minutes of passing small stools, ending in soft/wet mushy stool. Today, however, I am working from home. I always have 'feelings' in my stomach/bowel so thought I would go again just 30 minutes later. This time I had heavier, larger stools and another significant volume.I just don't understand how I can go from small - mushy, to decent sized stools in 30 minutes. Did the first BM 'work' something loose, or can a BM encourage peristalsis? I always thought a mushy stool meant a stool that was arriving too soon, but how can 30 minutes later other stools be formed?Cheers and sorry for the gross topic.

There also can be what is in that stool and how well it holds or releases water. It isn't a straight line of exactly 27 hours gives this exact stool consistency and no other is possible.Once you have a diagnosis of IBS you just have to expect stool weirdness.
