yeah food diary, i did one though it annoyed em and i kept stoping and starting, its boring but bare with, in time it will do wonders though in the begining its frustrating that you cant see connections stright away... after you find your suspected food/drinks avoid all of them for 3weeks... this is the time it takes you gut to heal, then reintroduce one at a time and note down your reactions if any
dont just cut food out of your diet though slowly take it out or you will get withdrawl symptoms
different things work for different people, in time you will get better and like a lot of us you can then help the newbies and support us all on bad days
good luck

HI Bess, I was recently diagnosed with IBS as well. I am a combination of IBS C and D. For abour the past 6 months I was visiting specialista nd trying to find a prescription drug way to treat this, but I have found a new doctor who relies on Homeopathic methods first them prescription if he has to. I currently take Carson Pure Aloe Vera Capsules(their yellow and you get them from Natural stores). For the first month take it with every meal, then you can go to one a day. I also have incoprerated Oatmeal or a Bran type of cereal(I really like Post Banana Nut Crucnh) into my daily regimen. If I fel an attack coming on I eat that or a sandwich instead of hardcore food. I started a food diary and have decided to elimate the regular consumption of Beef and pork from my diet. I eat alot of rice, breads, beans, chicken and fish now. Recently I have slowly been progressing to feeling better. I haven't had an attack in two-weeks.I am dealing with nausea that sometimes sends me to bed early, but I'm getting better. Try the oatmeal and getting foods high in fiber such as breads, and the Light whole grain english muffins that have 8 grams of fiber. I didn't do the fiber supplements and just get it from my foods. Every ones body is different but from someone who was having epoisode every 3 days and lost 30 pounds as a result, You might just wanna give this a try.Its not a drastic change but it helps alot.OH and NOOOO deep fried foods ie KFC, McDonalds,Taco bell....I tried to keep eating that food and I realized that it wasn't worth it.I dont feel 100% yet, but I can have a good day now
