Hi AllI am new to this forum and I am a bit hesitant to contribute on such a sensitive topic but I sure got problems and this does seem like the right place to start as everyone is pretty candid in here.I have to go to the loo straight usually straight after eating, I have on and off diahorrea and sometimes it appears as if my food has not even been digested properly. I have been to the doctor and he gave me all the usual jargon but it was confirmed that Im notlactose intollerant.Firstly does anyone think this is IBS?Secondly, what is my first step in handling this stuff.Sorry about the huge post but had to explain my position. Thanks AllCyanic

Hi Cyanic,How did your doctor confirm you're not lactose intolorant? Did he/she suggest IBS as a possibility? Are you having any tests done? A lot of things can look like IBS, it's important to rule them out first. IBS is mostly a diagnosis of exclusion.

Have you recently been on antibotics? If so how long? If you food is moving through your system to fast you may have a problem with the necessary bacteria that your system needs. I would suggest that you try taking acodolaphis(sp) It will replace the necessary balance in your system. That could also explain the urgent need to go to the bathroom.

Hi Lynda J and Isis1 Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I am only replying now as I have been quite busy.Isis1: I did have a lactose intolerant test and it came up negative. I have not been for any other tests to rule out sprew(?!) or an allergy to wheat - Im not sure if this is the correct term. So yes, I think I need a couple more tests to figure out exactly what the problem is.Lynda J: I am not currently on antibiotics but I do see your point with regards to achieving a balance in my digestion. I will look into taking "acodolaphis(sp)". Do you possibly know if something as simple as peppermint tea offers any help? Thanks to you both for your help -much appreciated.Cyanic
