Rookie: I, too, take Librax, but only on an 'as needed' basis. My doctor wrote the prescription for one tablet, three times a day, before meals. But he told me I could take it when needed, up to three times a day. It's really just a 'tranquilzer for your gut' and it also has a tiny amount of anti-anxiety medication in it. I took one today, as it's a holiday (which makes me anxious and changed my diet.) and it helped me alot. (Plus we had a house full of guests!) I have IBS-D that alternates with constipation (occasionally)and use the Caltrate. If I take more than 2 a day I get constipated, but I don't know if you would benefit from using it. I've heard others say that it can constipate. My doctor recommends Citracel - 1 heaping Tablespoon in 8 oz of water each night for constipation. Happy Easter, Karenr
