There are so many triggers for D that listing them may well be impossible. SIBO, a lack of beneficial bacteria from infection, antibiotics, continual stress and anxiety, a defect in serotonin production or uptake, brain-gut disruption, lack of a gall bladder, pelvic floor disfunctions, food allergies all come to mind. In my case, I believe it was a persistent case of low level inflammation, brought on by smoking. You name it, it will foul up our bowels.
