Diarrhea is a non-specific response.Diarrhea is not all that common in colon cancer, but I don't think it is from any different mechanism or some different specific type you could diagnose yourself. Besides at 24 colon cancer is very rare.Diarrhea can come from several things but they effect all people, even healthy people the same way. Some things in the diet tend to speed up transit like alcohol and caffiene. Some things in the diet tend to pull extra water into the stool like foods with sorbitol (either added as a food additive or naturally like raw apples and pears). Some people don't digest specific things most people have and that stuff when it gets to the colon pulls extra water into the stool (like fructose or lactose)Some people over react to the normal natural "move it" signals everyone has, but some people over-respond to. Even a healthy person can get the runs after a particularly greasy meal, just if you get it from normal meals rather than something like a chilli dog with cheese fries it could be IBS.Some people for any number of reasons have the mast cells in the gut go off and they send out chemical signals that push water into the stool and stimulate the move it signals. But none of this is "only cancer" or "only IBS" it is the same in anyone with any disease (even acute infections) that can cause diarrhea.
