This site(edited to add in my next post) is so comprehensive, it gives mechanical remedies for noisy farts like stuffing cotton wool in the anus and even has suggestions on what sort of fragrance to use for farts, LOL! It also gives spices which reduce flatulence, mainly common Indian spices, No wonder I had no flatulence all the way through the teen years after which I came here and stopped eating Indian food regularly. It also tells you when to take activated charcoal. Also a whole section on farting in Literature and the Arts as well as some interesting curiosities including the legalizatin of farting. I wish we could have lived in that era.Anyway I had questions about some parts of it. Here goes
quote:While not affecting the production of the gases themselves, agents which lower surface tension can reduce the disagreeable sensations associated with flatulence, by aiding the dissolving of the gases into other liquid and solid fecal matter.
I assume they are talking about Gas-X? Because I remember flux talking about surface tension. I thought Gas-X by lowering the surface tension it pops the bubbles containing gas and lets them escape into the gas state not do the opposite by dissolving them in the liquid. Where is the fallacy in my thinking, flux?It also says digestive enzymes help with gas. Do you think other than the obvious ones like Lactaid and Beano which I think help those afflicted by lactose malabsorption or have difficulty digesting beans which I don't have, would the others ones mentioned help? I have never taken digestive enzymes seriously. Also can yeast in breads cause gas? It says it does. I thought by the time it was cooked it was dead.

Thank you flux!

So this statement is wrong? As for placebo, I have a different opinion. If it is placebo, I don't care. I hope it doesn't stop working because you have planted that thought in my subconscious. I am so afraid it will stop working.
