I don't know if this is the correct place to offer this, but I am currently in school to become a Medical Transcriptionist. My sister is an MT who has worked from home the past 9 years. I have tried working outside the home, but the constant diarrhea has always been a big problem.

You don't always have to work in a doctor's office or in an acute care setting as an MT. Many MTs work on their computers from home. In fact, one of the largest nationwide employers of MTs employs MTs all over the country who work from their homes.

I'm sorry I don't have a link to offer. But I hope to be employed as soon as I finish school in July. At that time, I could come back and possibly offer some more helpful information.

Oh, by the way, there is some training involved, but it is a 3-semester program at my school. I think my sister's education was the same.

Video Games Advisor | 12 Month Contract | Austin, TX (Work from Home)

Palo Alto Staffing Technology has partnered with a major leader in video game production in Austin, TX to identify a Video Games Advisor. Apply today!

Summary
Do you want to be at the forefront of the digital era in interactive entertainment? The Worldwide Customer Experience team is looking to find an experienced support Advisor who has a passion for making significant connections with people, and is driven to find creative solutions to complex problems. We're interested in finding people who understand that all gaming is social gaming, and that our relationship with our players is critical to long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Providing customers with top level service and experience
• Resolving all customer issues on the first contact, including future customer needs and issues
• Communicating with customers regardless of skill level
• Developing and driving a "can-do" performance model and atmosphere
• Maintaining exemplary quality standards
• Building positive relationships with our customers

Required Competencies

• Active/Reflective Listening: is the act of listening to your customer throughout the contact and understanding what the customer is saying. Advisor should acknowledge and reiterate the issue back to the customer to confirm your understanding. Advisors that are using the active/reflective listening competency will not ask the customer to repeat information again or ask for information they already have.
• Proper Case Handling (Includes: case notes, proper escalation/transfer, proper case ticking): When we talk about Proper Case Handling we look at the way the advisor handled the case from an internal point of view. This includes proper case notes, proper escalation, and correct case ticking which includes correctly noting the category, issue, and status of the case. We also take notes if the advisor took ownership of the case or escalated/closed the case early.
• Pleasantries (Includes: being nice, empathy, demonstrating that you feel/identify/understand what the customer is experiencing): When we look at Pleasantries we determine if the advisor was friendly and polite during the conversation, did he use empathy statements and if he was able to identify and show understanding for the customer's feelings.
• Issue Diagnosis (Includes: Probing questions): Issue Diagnosis means the advisor should ask purposeful probing questions to clearly identify an issue. The advisor should use critical thinking to understand the cause of the issue and to work towards a resolution more effectively.
• Personality Flexing (Includes Clarity): When the advisor is adapting to the customers personality and/or technical aptitude he is clearly communicating with the customer considering the level of knowledge and communication style. Advisors will provide guidance according to the customer's level of understanding.
• Positive Language/Attitude: If the advisor is using positive positioning, is confident in the way he acts with the customer and takes ownership of the case we can count this towards this competency. Advisors should display a positive attitude and try to reach a positive outcome even if the case cannot be resolved. They should use critical thinking and provide alternative solutions if possible.
• Purposeful Small Talk: The conversation flow is fluent and relaxed. We use small talk or explain what we're doing to fully engage with the customer throughout the contact.
• Contact Deflection (Includes: Next issue resolution and education): Contact deflection means going beyond simply resolving an issue and providing the customer with information relevant to the case or any information given from the customer during the conversation. We educate the customer and aim for a next issue resolution.

Qualifications

• A passion to help our customers
• Discipline and independence to work remotely from home
• Exceptional and professional communication skills; both verbal and written
• Experience in troubleshooting for gameplay on PC, Mac, Xbox and PlayStation consoles
• A minimum 2 years of customer service experience preferred

I am checking in.Here is what I do.It's more of a hobby than a job.I am on full SS disability. My IBS-D has kept me from working all my adult life, so my checks are low, because I didn't pay in very much.I have a couple blogs that I have affiliate links on from google adsense, click bank, and amazon.I also do surveys from mysurvey,e poll, myrewards, big spot, globaltestmarket, and one other company I can't remember right off.All of it is in my spare time and I make $100 to $300 per month. If I really got serious with it,I could probably double that. All of my blogs are free for me and my visitors.A friend of mine lost her leg to diabetes and she uses etsy.com.She replaced her income just doing crafts in her spare time and selling them on there.I'm sure I will be adding more as time goes by.

I have IBS and recently had to resign from a very high paced stressful job due to my health. I'm looking for a new job, but also exploring work from home options. There is a site called Elance that specializes in these sorts of opportunities. I've been on there a few months, bid on several openings but have not actually gotten work from it. Still hoping to find a real gig, but if that doesn't work I'm hopeful that Elance might provide me with the chance to earn a living from home.

This thread was a good idea for those of us who spend way too much extra time at home, poopin' away!

To comment on the post right ^above^ mine, my friend use to be medical transcriptionist, she was for many years. Nowadays, in 2018? They almost all use voice recognition software and humans are almost all phased out. You can still go to school to learn how, but I would highly recommend you don't waste your money.
