I have IBS-C/D. I work for a gastroenterologist who prescribed me Miralax to keep me regular. I have to say that this stuff is AWESOME! I take it periodically (for about a year now). Maybe I take it for two days every couple weeks - not much. But with my last flare up, I got a bad hemorrhoid, so I have been taking the Miralax every day (although a lower dose) for about one week now and don't want to stop taking it until my hemi calms down, which it is. My boss says that there is no danger in taking Miralax every day, long-term. I asked her why it says on the bottle to only take it for up to 2 weeks...she says to ignore that and that it's fine. Anyone else's Dr. tell them it's ok to take Miralax long-term?I am also taking Citrucel every day which also helps.JK

I, too, was told by my very good GI that there was no problem taking it long term. While miralax has been a real life saver for me, I did have concerns about the long term use. Let's hope they're right!
