Yellow-colored stools anyone?

606 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Loraine
I have had IBS symptoms for a few weeks now, while on antibiotics. Something odd is that my stools are often yellow, though blood tests indicate no sign of liver damage. This is even though there is usually no sign of abundant mucus. It occurs especially when the stools are softer. Even when they are 'formed', they are still much lighter in color than was normal before.Could a gallbladder problem be to blame?

You can't see me, but if you could , you would see that I am raising my hand...yes I too have yellow colored stools, not all the time, but when the D gets pretty bad. I don't really know why this happens. Someone once told me that it means the food passed through too quickly , and wasn't digested enough ? Of course I don't know if that's true, but yellow or light colored stools seem to be fairly common for IBS.

When I have a "D" flair up, my stools are always yellow. I don't have a gallbladder,my doc says it's bile from digesting to fast. He also said it's normal for IBS and not to panic...easy for him to say..lol
