Hi everyone-I am home sick today adjusting to multiple side effects from Zoloft, which I started taking Friday night. I feel very drugged, nauseous, have a massive headache, and this morning I think my left hand had a tremor. So here I am, asking for some sympathy from my husband. He refuses, saying that him telling me he feels sorry for me won't help me feel any better. I know it must be very hard for him to understand, since he's honestly never taken a sick day in his life. Am I asking for too much? -Karen

Hang in there! Remember you are doing this for yourself. Nevermind that husband of yours, I know how disappointed you must be with him. But you have another source - us - you'll get a lot more sympathy from people here who have been through the same thing. Look at it this way, now you know his limitations. Ironically, he will benefit from the results as much as you will when you are happier. As for taking a day off from work to get over symptoms, jobs take a backseat to health, always, always, always. Jobs are temporary, your health is the most important thing you have. At any rate, you'll be a far more productive worker when you are happier too.I am taking Zoloft now for PMS and love it. I had some side effects when I started - nausea/lightheadedness, headache, and insomnia (waking up early). It went away after a few days, although I had to start taking it at midday to eliminate the sleep problems. Some people never do adjust and have to switch drugs 2 or 3 times before they find one that works for them. I know two people who hated Zoloft one ended up on Paxil+Wellbutrin, and the other on Prozac. How long have you had your symptoms? Believe me if it works for you, you will love it. As for myself, I no longer resemble Mr. Hyde. My family has noticed that I'm a lot nicer to be around now. (I may reduce it now to 2 weeks a month.) My sister took it for depression and loved the results. So hang in there the results are worth it...And remember there are other places to go when you feel rotten, and need to confide or vent.

Sometimes our hubby's just don't get it do they??? I'm taking Zoloft as well. Started out on 50 mg, and I felt the same way you are for about 4 days then it went away. I have not felt any improvement so far from the Zoloft. I don't feel it has helped me one way or the other. My dr. now prescribed Buspar for me to take with the Zoloft. I'm beginning to feel like a drug store, but anthing that will take the edge off the IBS panic when I leave the house is welcome with me! Hang in there, and try not to let your hubby get you down. I hope Zoloft will work wonders with you! Take care, and Happy Valentines Day!

Hmmm IBSAD, I would think the Bu Spar or similar drug would be better to take the edge off panic related to IBS than Zoloft. Zoloft just evens out my moods but I can still get angry or panicky if the situation justifies it. They do prescribe Zoloft for panic attacks but panicky feelings about out of control IBS are realistic in my book. At any rate, hope one of the above works.
